Hoi An

Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Central Vietnam, renowned for its beautifully preserved ancient town, where Chinese shophouses, Japanese bridges, and French colonial buildings line narrow lantern-lit streets. Nestled along the Thu Bon River, it offers a magical atmosphere, riverside dining, tailor shops, local markets, and traditional craft villages. By night, the town glows with colorful lanterns, especially during the monthly Full Moon Festival.

Hoi An through travelers' eyes

Hoi An is one of the most picturesque towns I’ve ever visited. The lanterns at night create such a magical atmosphere, and the old buildings have so much charm. I especially loved cycling around the rice fields and watching the sunset by the river. However, it’s getting quite touristy, and some areas feel a bit commercialized. Still, if you go early in the morning or during the shoulder season, you’ll find the peace and beauty that everyone talks about.

Hoi An is lovely and full of color, especially at night. I loved the old architecture and lanterns, but it was a bit too crowded for my taste. Still, it’s one of the most beautiful towns I’ve seen in Vietnam.

The lanterns are lovely, but the weather was too humid when I visited. Walking around in the heat made it hard to explore comfortably.

Hoi An has its charm, but the food prices in the tourist area are quite high. You need to walk further away from the center to find something more reasonable.

Hoi An has a very peaceful and romantic vibe, especially in the evening when the whole town lights up with colorful lanterns. The local people are friendly, and the food is delicious, I really liked the Cao Lau noodles! But the weather was extremely hot and humid, making it hard to walk around for long. Also, the ticket to enter the old town confused me at first. Despite that, it’s still a place worth visiting once in a lifetime.

My experience in Hoi An was amazing. The architecture is so beautiful, and I loved the harmony between nature and old culture. I took a bicycle ride through the rice fields in the morning, and it was so refreshing and peaceful. In the evening, the lanterns reflected on the river made everything glow softly such like a dream. The local dishes were delicious, especially the white rose dumplings. Hoi An is definitely a place that touches your heart.

I had a great time in Hoi An. The town looks beautiful at night, and the lanterns create such a peaceful atmosphere. However, some areas near the river were quite noisy with music and crowds. Still, I’d visit again just for the night view.

The lanterns in Hoi An are magical, and the atmosphere feels very romantic. The coffee shops by the river are perfect for relaxing. My only issue was that some restaurants were overpriced and too busy during dinner hours. But overall, it’s a peaceful and picturesque place worth visiting.
