Description

English-Only Workshop with a Local Coffee Specialist for Madarin-speaking guests

Join a private, small-group class (maximum 12 guests) conducted entirely in English by a local barista. The experience is authentic, personal, and rich in cultural insights. Learn how Vietnam became the world’s leading Robusta exporter—producing nearly half of the global supply—and how coffee has become an essential part of daily life. Roast, grind, and brew six iconic Vietnamese coffee recipes. Each drink reflects the creativity, simplicity, and warmth of Vietnam’s coffee culture.

🌟 Part 1: The Soul of Vietnamese Coffee – A Cultural Welcome (45 min)

  • Eco-friendly pickup from your hotel in the Old Quarter.
  • Arrival at the workshop with refreshing drinks and traditional Vietnamese snacks.
  • Settle into an authentic, cozy space designed for cultural immersion.
  • Learn how coffee first arrived in Vietnam 160 years ago.
  • Discover how Vietnam became:
  • The world’s No. 2 coffee exporter (after Brazil)
  • The No. 1 Robusta exporter globally
  • Understand why Vietnamese coffee reflects patience, pride, and daily ritual.

🌟  Part 2: From Bean to Cup – 6 Recipes, 6 Stories (90 min)
  • Guided by a local barista, learn to roast, grind, and brew six iconic Vietnamese coffee styles.
  • Hear the cultural stories behind each recipe.
  • You Will Create:
  • 1. Egg Coffee (Hanoi, 1940s):
  • Invented during milk shortages; whipped egg yolk became the signature topping.
  • 2. Creamy Coconut Coffee (Southern Vietnam):
  • A refreshing tropical blend of coconut cream and bold Robusta.
  • 3. Salted Coffee (Huế, Central Vietnam):
  • A pinch of salt enhances condensed milk—humble but perfectly balanced.
  • 4. Traditional Brown Coffee (Cà Phê Nâu):
  • Strong Robusta brewed through a phin filter, softened with condensed milk.
  • 5. Creative Coffee Cocktail:
  • A fun mix of Vietnamese coffee and local rice wine—tradition meets innovation.
  • 6. Modern Pour-Over (Sơn La Beans):
  • Floral, smooth beans from northern highlands for a lighter, contemporary style.
  • Insider Tip:
  • Try experimenting with local ingredients: jams, spices, or even a splash of rice wine to create your own signature blend.

  • Sip your six hand-brewed coffees in a relaxed, café-like setting.
  • Paired with delicious local pastries.
