Xi An Shi






This century-old courtyard of the Gao family in central Xi’an is a well-preserved Ming–Qing aristocratic residence covering 4.2 acres and featuring 86 rooms, 56 of which are open to visitors. Once home to Gao Yuesong and seven generations of officials, it features antique furniture, porcelain, paintings, and intricate wood and brick carvings. Guests can also watch a traditional Shaanxi shadow puppet show to explore folk crafts, offering an immersive glimpse into elite family life and living cultural heritage.
