Chiang Mai
Discover the exotic cuisine of Northern Thailand in this full-day Lanna cooking class hosted by Grandma's Home Cooking School. Explore traditional ingredients at a local market, tour an organic farm, and learn to create five authentic Northern Thai dishes—from sausage to jackfruit curry—using traditional techniques like charcoal grilling, coconut grating, and millstone flour grinding. Wind down with a farm-to-table lunch, dessert tasting, and a recipe book to commemorate the experience. Dietary needs are accommodated, and children up to 12 may observe.
The class runs for approximately eight hours, starting with hotel pick-up at 8:30 AM from your Chiang Mai accommodation. You’ll visit a local market at 9:15 AM for ingredient insights and then head to the cooking school by 10:00 AM. After enjoying a welcome drink and snack, the class starts at 10:20 AM before moving to the farm at 10:35 AM. Cooking begins at 11:00 AM, followed by lunch at 12:30 PM and continued cooking at 12:45 PM. A break occurs at 2:20 PM, then dessert and refreshment tasting at 2:45 PM. The class wraps up with a summary and recipe book at 3:30 PM, and you are dropped off at your hotel at 3:45 PM
