Take home a special souvenir from Hoi An by joining a Lantern Making Class. Create your own lantern, a traditional symbol of luck and happiness, and bring a piece of Hoi An’s charm home. Choose an express class with pre-prepared bamboo or a full class to make one from scratch. An English-speaking instructor will guide you step by step, making it fun for the whole family, even kids from age 3.

🗓️ Itinerary:

Class 1: Express Class

• Step 1: Choose your desired silk and color
• Step 2: Apply glue to the frame and let it dry
• Step 3: Place the silk on the frame and stretch it to cover the stakes
• Step 4: Fully cover the sides with silk
• Step 5: Cover the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips
• Step 6: Select a tassel for the lantern base
• Step 7: Finished! Your lantern can also be folded and packed in your luggage to take home
  

Class 2: Full Class

• Step 1: Attach 12 bamboo stakes together using wire thread.
• Step 2–3: Shape the stakes into a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) formation.
• Step 4: Insert the bamboo stakes into a hanger and secure them with thread.
• Step 5: Choose your desired silk fabric and color.
• Step 6: Apply glue to the frame and allow it to dry.
• Step 7: Set and stretch the silk over the bamboo stakes.
• Step 8: Fully cover the lantern sides with silk.
• Step 9: Wrap the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips for a neat finish.
• Step 10: Choose a decorative tassel for the lantern base.
• Step 11: Finished! Your lantern is complete and can be folded and packed easily to take home.

• Monday-Sunday: 09:00-17:00.
• Class start time: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, and 15:00.
• Duration: 2-3 hours.
