Spot Introduction

  • Indigo Dyeing Factory: The history of indigo dyeing began in the Han and Jin dynasties, developed in the Song and Yuan dynasties, and became popular in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is one of the important traditional Chinese crafts with a history of 1000 years. Wuzhen is one of the production areas of indigo dyeing, and the indigo dyeing that still preserves the old traditions is a must-see.
  • The Jiangnan Hyakubedokan: A museum that displays beds from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The luxurious decorations, such as the legs and exterior of the bed, are skillfully carved to make it look more like a work of art than a bed. Here you can feel the excellent craftsmanship and beautiful art of ancient China.
  • Huiyuan Pawnshop: This building was used as a pawn shop until 1931. It is said that pawn shops at that time did not operate to make money, but rather under the motto of "fair dealings." You can experience the warm and friendly atmosphere that is unique to China.
  • Wood Carving Museum: A museum that displays wood carvings. The intricately designed carvings will impress you with the high level of skill of the Chinese.
